More and more of the parkway’s medians and buffers are being paved, leaving adjacent parks and residents to look out over eight lanes of traffic.

A buffer of the same width is planted with euonymus and forsythia, screening the local road and pedestrians on the other side from the sight, sound, and dust of the highway.
